WE ARE SPARKS AFTER ALL, SMALL BITS OF WARMTH AND COLOR
This owl bowl is all about celebrating the light we create by making. Making music, making pictures, making gardens, making a meal! My little poem, "we are sparks after all, small bits of warmth and color" is one close to my heart, so I am excited to be able to share it with you within this happy noodle bowl.
Art inside, outside, and even on the bottom!
It is wonderful to be able to offer a small selection of reproduction bowls. The costs to produce an artisan designed product for a small business run by a full time artist is high. Making the reproductions of my bowls a rare thing. It also creates the need to make them a limited edition of 1,200 per design. They are primarily offered only here through my website, along with a few independently owned stores.
Like prints of a painting, the bowls that make up my limited edition collections are faithful reproductions of my original bowls. Designed in my Washington State studio, made in Thailand in a facility that meets European standards for people and planet.
The wares are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, as well as family and café proven strong.

ABOUT THE ARTIST, Cary Lane
Dedicated studio artist, in love with a fisherman, mama bear to two young adults, living 100% off grid on solar and hydro power for 26 years, dog rescuer, neighbor to an elk herd that roams the foothills of Mount Baker in Washington State, owner and artist of The Bowl Maker company, too many personal and collaborative art projects to count and always one or two in the hopper, adding to the spark and passing it on, sharing wonder by the cupful.
And then the dragon bathed me in fire. To my surprise, instead of burning up, I cracked open, like a seed that needs certain conditions in order to be ready to plant.
Time in the realm of story, where intuition is afoot and the great wheels of imagination and understanding are turning, inspires me.
A soul, just a moment ago dormant, is now wide awake and humming along.
I grew up in a safe circle of creativity and scientific wonder. My scientist dad and pianist mom gave me the time and paper to fill the kitchen table and floor with my paintings and drawings.At California State University Long Beach I found the ceramics department: a vibrant program led by dedicated professors and unified students. With ceramic sculpture I began my conscious adult life as a dedicated artist. Throughout my M.F.A. and various artist-in-residency programs, I discovered Bellingham, Washington, where I fell in love with a fisherman. We built our home in the foothills of Mount Baker, and home-birthed two children. Now I work as a mother and artist amongst dogs, cedar trees, and a close community. Art for me is a wonderfully fierce, necessary thing. It can not be separated from my being.

Returns must be made within 14 days (no returns for original pieces available). Items must be returned in the original condition and unused. Buyer is responsible for return shipping. Once items are received, a refund will be issued (minus shipping costs) to the original form of payment.
